Primary muscles: Glutes
Secondary muscles: Adductors, Hamstrings, Quadriceps
How to do it
- Set up in the machine with your upper back against the back pad, feet flat on the platform about hip-width apart, and the belt or pad secured snugly across your hips.
- Release the safety and lower your hips under control until they are clearly below your knees, keeping your chin tucked and ribs down.
- Drive through your heels to extend your hips until your torso and thighs form a straight line at the top, squeezing your glutes hard without overarching the lower back.
- Lower under control and repeat for the prescribed reps, then set the safety before getting out.
