Machine Glute Kickback
Also known as: Glute Kickback Machine, Kickback Machine, Machine Kickbacks, Machine Glute Kick Back, Standing Glute Kickback Machine
Machine Glute Kickback is a compound strength exercise using machine that trains the glutes.
Primary muscles: Glutes
Secondary muscles: Hamstrings, Quadriceps
How to do it
- Set up with your chest against the pad, hands on the handles, and the ball of one foot on the pedal with that knee bent about 90 degrees.
- Brace your torso against the pad and drive the pedal back and up by extending your hip and knee, squeezing the glute hard at full extension.
- Avoid arching the lower back or rotating the hips; the movement is the leg, not the spine.
- Return under control until the knee is back to the start position, complete the prescribed reps, then switch legs.
