Primary muscles: Calves

How to do it

  1. Stand with your back and hips against a wall and your heels about a foot in front of it.
  2. Keeping your legs straight and your heels on the floor, lift the fronts of your feet as high as you can toward your shins.
  3. Pause briefly at the top, then lower your toes under control without letting them slap the floor.
  4. Step your feet farther from the wall to make it harder, or add load with a tibialis bar or plate.
