Primary muscles: Quadriceps
Secondary muscles: Glutes, Hamstrings
How to do it
- Sit in a leg press and place one foot in the middle of the platform, resting the other foot on the floor or frame.
- Release the safeties and lower the platform by bending the knee toward your chest, keeping the knee tracking over the toes.
- Stop before your lower back rounds off the pad, then press through the whole foot to extend the leg without locking the knee.
- Finish the set, lock the safeties again, and repeat with the other leg.
