How to do it

  1. Set a barbell across your upper back with a wide grip, as for a snatch, and your feet in a squat stance.
  2. Brace your trunk and keep the bar still in space as the movement starts.
  3. Push yourself down under the bar into a full squat while pressing against it until your arms are locked overhead.
  4. Stand up with the bar held overhead, then lower it back to your upper back.
