Secondary muscles: Traps

How to do it

  1. Adjust the seat so your shoulders line up with the machine's pivot points, then sit with your chest up and grip the handles with the pads resting against the outside of your forearms just above the elbows.
  2. Keeping a slight bend in the elbows, drive your arms out and up through the pads until your upper arms are roughly parallel to the floor; slightly flared at the top is fine.
  3. Pause briefly at the top without shrugging your shoulders toward your ears.
  4. Lower under control back to your sides and repeat for the prescribed reps.
