Assisted Pull-Up (Machine)
Also known as: Assisted Pullup, Machine Assisted Pull-Up, Gravitron Pull-Up, Assisted Pull-Up Machine
Assisted Pull-Up (Machine) is a compound strength exercise using machine that trains the lats.
Primary muscles: Lats
Secondary muscles: Biceps, Middle Back, Forearms
How to do it
- Set the assistance weight on the stack. A HIGHER number means MORE help, so it makes the set easier — the goal over time is to need less of it.
- Kneel or stand on the platform and take a wide overhand grip on the upper bar. Let the platform carry you to a full hang with the arms straight. This is your starting position.
- Pull yourself upward by driving the elbows down and to your sides, leading with the chest, until your chin clears the bar. Avoid kipping or swinging.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower under control to a full hang.
