Connect Grok to your workout history with MCP
You can give Grok a real lifting log to consult instead of typing your last session into each conversation. MyoAmigo records workouts on iPhone and Apple Watch and offers a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the history you choose to sync. xAI's Grok connector guide documents custom MCP connectors on grok.com, so this setup uses the Grok chat product, not just xAI's developer API.
Connect MyoAmigo in Grok
- Record or import your training in MyoAmigo. The core log works offline without an account, and Strong CSV import is available. Grok cannot request workouts that remain only on your phone.
- Sign in to MyoAmigo and sync the history you want Grok to use. A remote MCP tool can return records from your signed-in account.
- Open grok.com/connectors. Choose New Connector, then Custom, as described in xAI's current instructions.
- Enter
https://api.myoamigo.com/mcpas the MCP server URL and complete the MyoAmigo authentication flow. Review the access before approving it. - Ask Grok to use the connected log. Start with a bounded question such as “Read my last six squat sessions and compare my working sets.” Check the returned sessions before acting on a suggestion.
xAI says connectors are available to Grok users, while a Grok Business or Enterprise team admin must first provision a custom connector for the organization. If you are in a managed workspace and do not see the Custom option, ask your admin about connector provisioning. Grok features and usage limits remain subject to xAI's plan and workspace rules. The MyoAmigo connection guide covers our server side.
What to ask Grok after connecting
Try: “Look at my last eight bench sessions. Separate warm-ups from working sets, show whether load or reps rose, and suggest one next-session target. If there is too little data to call a stall, say so.” Or ask, “Which lifts did I actually train this week, and how does that compare with the plan?” The point is to make the answer traceable to your own log, not to let an assistant guess at progress.
A custom connector does not pour your entire history into every Grok chat. Grok can request data when it chooses an authorized MyoAmigo tool in a conversation. Your MyoAmigo record remains the source; this page does not promise Grok permanent memory of it.
Free reads and Pro actions
MyoAmigo's raw training-history, PR, stall, and strength-standard MCP reads are Free. Synthesized week reviews and full session assessments require MyoAmigo Pro. Pro also enables training-data write tools such as logging a set or creating routines and weekly plans. xAI says custom MCP connectors discover the server's tools, but actual tool use depends on Grok's current client permissions and approval flow. Inspect a proposed routine before asking Grok to save it. Grok access and MyoAmigo Pro are separate services; see MyoAmigo pricing.
Privacy and control
MyoAmigo scopes MCP access to your authenticated account. Grok receives data returned when it calls a tool and handles that data under xAI's terms. Apple Health categories are a separate opt-in in MyoAmigo's Data Sync Center and require Apple permission before a server copy can be queried. You can disconnect the Grok connector and control your MyoAmigo sync. See our privacy policy. MyoAmigo is an independent MCP service, not an official xAI partnership.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect Grok on grok.com without writing API code?
xAI documents custom MCP connectors at grok.com/connectors: choose New Connector, then Custom, enter the MyoAmigo MCP URL, and authenticate. Managed Business and Enterprise workspaces need an admin to provision the connector first.
Can Grok see workouts I have not synced?
No. The remote MCP server serves records from your MyoAmigo account. Workouts stored only on your phone stay outside that connection.
Can Grok put a routine into MyoAmigo?
MyoAmigo supports routine and plan write tools for Pro. Whether Grok can invoke a particular write tool depends on its current connector permissions. Review the proposed routine before saving it.
