Primary muscles: Abductors

Secondary muscles: Glutes

How to do it

  1. Fasten an ankle cuff to a low cable pulley and strap it around the ankle farther from the machine.
  2. Stand sideways to the stack, holding the frame for balance, with the working leg just in front of the standing leg.
  3. Keeping the knee straight and your torso upright, sweep the working leg out to the side as far as you can without leaning.
  4. Return the leg slowly against the cable's pull, finish the set, then turn around for the other leg.
