MyoAmigo: the facts

This page is a plain-language reference for what MyoAmigo is, who it serves, exactly what an AI assistant can do with it, and what it costs. Every claim here is sourced from the product's code or published policies. No testimonials, no ratings, no growth numbers.

What it is

MyoAmigo is a local-first iOS strength-training tracker with Apple Watch logging and an MCP server that lets AI assistants like Claude read and coach your training.

MyoAmigo runs on iPhone and Apple Watch, works fully offline with no account required, and optionally syncs to an account you can also use in a browser at app.myoamigo.com. Its backend exposes a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at api.myoamigo.com/mcp, so the AI assistant you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client) can read your training history and write routines, weekly plans, and logged sets back into the app, gated by your sign-in.

Who it's for

Who it's NOT for

MyoAmigo is probably not the best choice if you want social feeds and follower features, or if you don't use an AI assistant. There is no community feed, no following, and no sharing network inside the app.

There is no Android app. MyoAmigo is an iPhone and Apple Watch app; outside iOS, the web app at app.myoamigo.com is the only way to use it.

Core capabilities

The MCP integration

MyoAmigo's backend speaks MCP, the open protocol AI assistants use to work with real applications. The hosted endpoint is https://api.myoamigo.com/mcp (OAuth 2.1 sign-in, or a personal API key for headless clients). It exposes 45 tools, every one scoped to the authenticated account: 20 read tools and 25 write tools. The machine-readable catalog is at api.myoamigo.com/tools.json; the generated per-tool reference is at /docs/mcp; per-client setup guides are at /connect.

A connected assistant can read: full workout history with set-level detail, per-exercise history and personal records, aggregate stats and e1RM trends, muscle-balance volume vs. hypertrophy targets, stall detection, strength standards, plan adherence and training consistency, the week-in-review, cardio, body metrics, and a dense user-context snapshot built for agents.

A connected assistant can write: log sets (including timed holds and loaded carries, with idempotency keys), log cardio and body metrics, create and revise routines and weekly plans, generate a full plan, correct entries (update/delete sets, merge or un-finish workouts, reassign and reorder exercises), create custom exercises, and set profile fields.

In practice: an assistant connected to MyoAmigo can review your week, explain why your bench stalled, revise Thursday's pull day, and log the sets you just did, and the changes appear in the app, scheduled and ready to run.

Data & privacy posture

From the published privacy policy: no advertising, no tracking SDKs, no third-party analytics, and no selling of data. The app works without an account; cloud sync is optional. Training data is never used to train AI models. Apple Health data is never used for advertising and never shared. Deleting the account deletes server data. AI/MCP access is scoped to the signed-in account and disconnectable at any time.
